Item Information
Item # 1: ( 00-00 - 00 )
In accordance with the State Comptroller's Procurement/Contracts Policy for State Grants, Federal Sub-Grants and Subsidies, dated September 8, 2014, the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection ("MassDEP"), on behalf of the agency's Clean Energy Results Program ("CERP") is publishing this notice of its intent to make a Best Value Grant Award in the amount of $200,000 to the Town of Nantucket, Massachusetts ("Town"). As described in further detail below, the purpose of this grant award is to support the Town's installation of a municipally-owned, 106kW roof-mounted Solar-PV system on the sludge processing building at the Surfside Wastewater Treatment Plant ("Surfside Project"), located in Nantucket, MA. This project is estimated to save the Town approximately $34,503 annually in electric costs (annual reduction of 141,335 kWh). The total, anticipated 25-year net savings and benefit of the Solar-PV system is $925,468. This reduction in energy use and cost is consistent with the goals of CERP's competitive Gap Energy Grant program.
