The primary goal of Housing Stability Support is to assist adults, families, and young adults in their recovery, in the stabilization of their housing, and in achieving self-sufficiency. This goal is achieved through provision of services within a permanent or transitional housing setting. These services reinforce recovery by establishing community-based supports to maintain ongoing goals in the recovery process. The environment created by Housing Stability Support services reduces risk of relapse through encouraging and supporting residents to coalesce as a community to support each other in their recovery from substances and in the development of independent living skills. Housing Stability Support services provided to families will also include facilitating access to local child development and parenting skills workshops. Some ways that a client may enter a program include through outreach by a provider, after transition from a shelter setting, or after transition from a substance use disorder treatment program
