Lowell General Hospital will cease Growth and Nutrition services as of September 30, 2018. The current multidisciplinary team includes a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Registered Dietician, Licensed Social Worker, and a contracted Speech-Language Pathologist. Administrative support is provided. GNP clinics services have been offered twice a week. In addition, regularly scheduled 6-week feeding groups were provided throughout the year. Anticipated funding projections will support 75 clients every year. The Department of Public Health are posting this Request for Response (RFR) to re-procure a Growth and Nutrition Program (GNP) in the Greater Lowell area to provide nutritional, medical, and behavioral therapy to eligible children to promote proper health, growth and development. Services are expected to begin on January 1, 2019. GNP services are available to children who reside in Massachusetts, up through 6 years of age, and their families, who demonstrate delayed growth or growth deceleration. The estimated funding available annually for this RFR is up to $125,000.00 to cover program, administrative and supportive services such as non-reimbursable direct care and administrative staff, training, and program support.
