The Town of Weston is seeking bids for the " Paines Hill Telemetry Building " project. Sealed Bids for the General Contract will be received from General Contractors for the construction of Paines Hill Telemetry Building at the Department of Public Works, 190 Boston Post Road By-Pass, Weston, MA 02493 until 2:00 P.M. on February 8, 2018 and at that time and place bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. The work consists of constructing a wood framed telemetry building on a concrete slab, and several Bid Alternates to add insulation to the building, install an electrical duct bank for future use and installation of landscape plantings. The time for completion of this Contract is 150 calendar days. The bidding and award of this Contract will be under the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 30, Section 39M. Complete instructions for filing Bids are included in the Instructions to Bidders. Each General Bid shall be submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and shall be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of 5 percent of the Bid. No Bidder may withdraw his Bid for a period of thirty (30) days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays after the actual date of the opening of the General Bids. This advertisement does not obligate the Owner for any costs associated with preparing or submitting bids. The successful General Bidder must furnish a 50 percent Payment Bond with a surety company acceptable to the Owner. Minimum wage rates as determined by the Commissioner of Department of Workforce Development under the provisions of M.G.L., Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27D, as amended, apply to this project. It is the responsibility of the contractor, before bid opening, to request if necessary, any additional information on Prevailing Wage Rates for those trades people who may be employed for the proposed work under this contract. Federal Minimum Wage Rates as determined by the United States Department of Labor under the Davis-Bacon Act also apply to this project. Contract Documents may be obtained online at www.weston.org/bids.aspx beginning January 10, 2018 at 8:00AM. Interested parties will be furnished one PDF download set of Contract Documents at no cost. To be considered a responsive Bidder, the Contractor shall have obtained at least one set of Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office. The Bid will not be awarded to a Bidder unless a record for obtaining at least one set of Bidding Documents exists in the Issuing Office. To meet this requirement and to establish the record of receipt, a prospective Bidder must obtain Bidding Documents using the name that is to appear on the Bid Form. The Bid Form includes a Base Bid Item and three Bid Alternates. The Contract Award may be made based on Bid Item 1 (Base Bid) or the successive addition of Alternate Bid Items at the Owner's Discretion.
