The City of Newburyport ("City") is soliciting proposals from qualified telecommunications infrastructure developers, wireless carriers, and/or tower management companies for the design, permitting, financing, construction, ownership, operation, and maintenance of a telecommunications tower facility (the "Tower Facility") at the Premises described below, to improve wireless communication coverage, public safety communications, emergency response reliability, and broadband infrastructure on Plum Island and surrounding coastal areas. The Tower Facility should be capable of supporting multiple carriers and City public safety communication equipment. The awarded vendor will also have to relocate the current safety equipment located on the existing tower and demolish the existing tower on the Premises.
