In an effort to continue to expand youth development work in Massachusetts that will support youth in achieving positive sexual and reproductive health outcomes, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) intends to apply for the Administration on Children, Youth and Families (ACYF) Family and Youth Services Bureau (FYSB) Title V State Sexual Risk Avoidance Education funding. If funded, MDPH's Title V Sexual Risk Avoidance Education Program will be known as Successful Teens: Relationships, Identity, and Values Education (STRIVE). The STRIVE Initiative will implement evidence-based curriculum and/or strategies that are: - Medically accurate and age appropriate - Culturally responsive - Effective in delaying the onset of sexual initiation. MDPH intends to fund partners that are currently working with youth and plan to integrate STRIVE into existing youth programs. Pending a successful federal application, MDPH anticipates awarding contracts between approximately $25,000-$50,000, with a minimum of 35 youth served per fiscal year.
